Dr. Mahinda De Silva completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 1998 and underwent advanced training in gastroenterology at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and is an active member of both the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and the American Gastroenterological Association.

Dr. De Silva has a strong clinical focus on coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening and prevention, as well as the genetics of colorectal cancer.

Currently, he serves as a Staff Specialist at both Noarlunga Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, contributing his expertise to patient care and advancing the field of gastroenterology.
